JOHN LEE -CHIEF OF STAFF
As the Chief of Staff, John has the responsibility of managing all operations of the Council office. In addition, he oversees all legislative and policy matters, administrative functions and oversees the City Hall and field staff. He is the Councilmember’s liaison to the Mayor’s office and the City’s proprietary departments – the Department of Water and Power, Los Angeles World Airports. In addition, he is responsible for monitoring proposition and bond monies as well as other funding opportunities for the Council District. |

NICOLE BERNSON - DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF
Nicole staffs the Budget and Finance Committee and is the office's senior policy advisor. She is in charge of environmental issues, including waste reduction, resource recovery, renewable energy, and air and water quality. She also monitors State and Federal legislation and regulation policy. |

PHYLLIS WINGER – CHIEF PLANNING DEPUTY Phyllis is the Councilman's Deputy for planning and land use and development issues. She also has responsibility for the airport master plans, community redevelopment, housing, PLUM committee, the Southern California Association of Governments and the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFC). |

DOUG TRIPP – CHIEF LEGISLATIVE DEPUTY Doug oversees legislative matters, staffs the Councilmember on the Public Safety Committee, and covers various Council Committees including Personnel, Information Technology & Government Affairs, and Jobs & Business Development. He also monitors and researches state and federal legislation relevant to the City. |

BRENTON TESLER - LEGISLATIVE DEPUTY (aka THE ORACLE) Brenton assists the Councilman during Council Meetings and is responsible for monitoring and researching legislation. In addition Brenton works on district events and oversees the Twelfth District Legislation Log. He manages all of the Council office's databases and crucial contacts. |

MATT MYERHOFF- COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
Matt is in charge of all internal and external communications from the Council office including media outreach, media monitoring, newsletters, managing the website, social media, press releases and advisories, and maintaining media files. |

ALEXIS MARIN – LEGISLATIVE DEPUTY
Alexis briefs the Councilmember before Council meetings and staffs him during Council meetings. She assists the Chief Legislative Deputy on the Public Safety Committee, the Police Commission, and the Fire Commission. She covers the Education & Neighborhoods Committee, Trade, Commerce & Tourism Committee, and other public safety-related meetings of other government agencies. |

CINDY VARELA – EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT As the Councilman’s Executive Assistant, Cindy’s primary role is handling the Councilmember’s schedule. In addition, she supervises the clerical staff and performs clerical functions and handles General City Purpose Fund (GCP) requests as well as many other administrative functions. |

MEGAN COTTIER – DISTRICT DIRECTOR Megan is the District Director, responsible for the field staff and District operations. She oversees parks and open space issues, equestrian issues, special events and Council District 12 events. She also is a liaison between the Council office and Neighborhoood Councils, Business Improvement Districts, Chambers of Commerce and other community-based organizations. She serves on the Boards of Directors of Ride-On Therapeutic Horsemanship, the San Fernando Valley Jaycees, and West Valley Alliance. |

HANNAH LEE – SENIOR PLANNING AND TRANSPORTATION DEPUTY Hannah leads transportation and traffic-safety related legislation, policy and projects for the Council Office. She also handles issues related to housing and assists the Chief Planning Deputy on planning and land use matters in Council District 12 and in City Hall. |

SEMEE PARK – FIELD DEPUTY Semee Park works on community development partnering with Neighborhood Councils and community-based organizations, schools and houses of worship in the District. She is also the volunteer coordinator for community clean ups and other community service projects and works on issues affecting seniors, and handles LADWP constituent service requests. |

ERIK RICHARDSON - FIELD DEPUTY Erik Richardson works with Neighborhood Councils and other community-based organizations. He handles constituent service requests and other administrative functions in the District Office. Erik is also our Business Liaison and works on outreach to our business community. |

MELODY JARAMILLO – COUNCIL AIDE/CASE WORKER Melody is the first person you talk to when you call Councilmember Englander's District office. She will connect you with the appropriate staff members and answer questions you may have, and handles most constituent service case work. |

JIM DELLINGER – FIELD DEPUTY Jim oversees local Police and Fire matters. He works with the LAPD senior Lead Officers, monitors Neighborhood Watch meetings and assists them with service needs. He also covers DOT issues such as parking enforcement, abandoned vehicles speed humps, signals and street signs. |
