Accessing Opportunities for Small Businesses Contracting with the City

This week, I hosted an "Accessing Opportunities" event in my Community Service Center to provide small business owners information about the City’s Contractor Development and Bonding Program.
The Contractor Development and Bonding Program is available to assist community members with contracting capacity and business growth. The discussion offered those in attendance resources to improve local business, the pathway to accessing these opportunities, and information on how to improve the safety and quality of life within our community.
The City of Los Angeles continually depends on private contracts in almost every Department, both supplying City run projects and delivering various services. Currently in CD12, in addition to the City construction contracting opportunities with the City’s Proprietary Departments, there are over $18 million of City Construction Projects. When LA Businesses can easily work with the City, our services improve and businesses prosper.
I want to thank the small business owners and local leaders for coming to the event and a special thank you to Merriwether & Williams and everyone that came together to provide the needed information about the Contractor Development and Bonding Program.
