I'm proud to announce that I've accepted an appointment to serve on the National League of Cities' Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee for 2018.
The NLC is the primary advocacy organization representing the interests of U.S. cities and towns in Washington, DC. The Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee has the lead responsibility for developing the NLC's federal policy positions on issues involving crime prevention, corrections, substance abuse, municipal fire policy, juvenile justice, disaster preparedness and relief, homeland security, domestic terrorism, court systems, and gun policy.
I'm also pleased to announce that the 2018 City Summit which marks the culmination of a year of work with the organization will be hosted here in Los Angeles in November of 2018. I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and best practices with other municipalities as well as representing Los Angeles within the organization.
