Show up at the Reserve Orientation the first and third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. It is located at the City of Los Angeles Personnel Department Building at 700 East Temple Street Room 115A Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Prop O Call for Projects
The City Proposition O Citizens Oversight Advisory Committee and the Department of Public Works
are encouraging non-profit and community organizations to submit their ideas for projects that improve water quality. If the project you nominate is approved by the City of Los Angeles, the Department of Public Works will design and build it with Prop O funds approved by voters last year.

Hire Your Own City Work Crew For A Day
The Personal City Services and Repairs Program introduced by Councilman Greig Smith allows residents and community groups to pay for overtime costs for City crews to get specific jobs done more quickly. Services include: tree trimming and weed clearing, filling potholes, curb, gutter and sidewalk repairs, upgrading parks and purchasing books for a local library branch. To Make a Difference
Councilmember Greig Smith and the Bureau of Street Services are establishing a government community partnership which allows neighborhood groups, businesses, and residents to participate in a street cleaning and beautification pilot project. Any City street within Council District 12 can be adopted.

Deadline for Household Hazardous Waste in the Regular Trash
Starting Feb. 8, Californians may no longer throw household items containing toxic substances into the regular trash, including batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, and items containing mercury such as thermostats, thermometers and electronic devices, as well as chemicals, used motor oil, etc. This will prevent pollutants from leaching into our air and groundwater.
