Councilmember Mitchell Englander and City Attorney Mike Feuer Demand Investigation of the Aliso Canyon Gas Leak

Today I was pleased to join our City Attorney Mike Feuer in asking the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the Department of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) to immediately investigate the causes of and the actions that may be taken to alleviate the Aliso Canyon Gas Leak, which has plagued Porter Ranch residents for more than a month, with no imminent resolution in sight.
As a result of the motion I introduced last week, The Southern California Gas Company, along with representatives from DOGGR, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LADPH), City and County Fire Departments and Hazmat will be present to answer questions regarding the gas leak, actions taken to date and the plans and timeline for mitigating the leak going forward.
