Developing Safer and Smarter Tourism with ITTAC

This week, I joined the International Travel and Tourism Association of California (ITTAC) to facilitate a discussion about ways our City can better address the ongoing issues in the local tourism industry.
Founded last year, the ITTAC is a statewide association comprised of tour professionals with over 150 members in the tourism industry such as independent tour guides, company tour guides, tour companies, tour operators, sponsors, allies, and other tour professionals.
Lately, there has been an increase of illicit business practices in Los Angeles. These illegally operating tour companies are harming our residents, local businesses, and tourists.
As Chair of the Public Safety Committee, the welfare and security of our residents and those visiting our City are one of my top priorities and I am excited to begin this conversation and find solutions on how to resolve these issues.
