Discussing the Future of Tech Industries in innov818

This week, I participated in a fascinating panel discussion about the future of work and the startup ecosystem in the brand new ToolboxLA/HexLab Makerspace.
Last week's newsletter highlighted this valuable new asset to the Chatsworth community as a place where adults and children could apply their creative talents and expand their skills for design and building. Turns out this space also hosts discussions among industry leaders and subject matter experts.
The panel featured, in addition to myself, a creative director for Google, the founder of a tech toy company called Two Bit Circus, software company executives, and investors in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. During the panel we discussed how new technologies are disrupting and changing long established industries.
Our Council District is well positioned to take advantage of this new wave of game-changing technologies through my innov818 program which leverages the assets of the Chatsworth-Northridge Industrial Corridor as an ideal environment to locate new light industrial manufacturing companies.
In an era of both opportunity and uncertainty, I'm listening to those with an informed idea of how our economy is evolving and positioning our district so that our residents and community can prosper.
