Frank Bush Confirmed as New General Manager of the Department of Building and Safety

This Wednesday, I was proud to vote to appoint Frank Bush as the permanent General Manager of the Department of Building and Safety. Mr. Bush has 27 years of experience with the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Building and Safety and has had an extensive career in the construction and development industry, holds a General Contractor’s License from the State of California, a Certification as a Combination Dwelling Inspector from the International Code Council (ICC), and is a member of the California Building Officials (CALBO)
Throughout his career, Mr. Bush has proved to be a “change" manager. He cultivates ideas from staff and customers as well as his own and helps turn them into tangible improvements. As a result, the Department has developed and implemented many enhancements that have greatly improved the quality and access to customer services and created significant LADBS operational efficiencies.
The Department has received several Mayoral Civic Innovation Awards, awards from the Development Industry among others, and recognition from City, State, and Federal elected officials, community leaders, property owner associations, Los Angeles Police Department and other city departments for his dedication to public service and for resolving community blight issues throughout the City of Los Angeles.
