Grand Opening of the New North Valley Family YMCA Warm Water Pool & Spa

Last Friday, I was proud to cut the ribbon on the new warm water pool at the North Valley Family YMCA. I was proud to co-chair this important capital campaign to bring a much need resource to our community. This warm water pool will give over 1,000 people, children, parents and seniors, the opportunity to take classes and stay active and healthy.
I want to thank so many who have been a part of the history and growth of the YMCA to benefit our community. Special thanks to all those who donated including Lynn Feintech, and Shapell family for their donation of the land to begin this project 19 years ago. Also thank you to John Love and Matt Fausett from the Shapell Liberty Investment Properties who donated $1 million in 2009 to begin this project and to Supervisor Michael Antonovich, for his contribution to this capital campaign and childcare sites of $160,000.
This pool would not have been possible without Kaiser Permanente, and their $500,000 partnership funds, which helped us reach the $2.3 million needed to build the pool. Our partnership with Kaiser Permanente will enhance our capability to better serve the health needs of our members, schools and the general community. Without the help of our amazing community this project would not have been possible.
