Metro’s New U-Pass Pilot Program

Metro has an ongoing outreach effort that aims to promote new and existing services available to CSUN students and staff. Metro’s new U-Pass is a Universal College Student Transit Pass Pilot Program that will increase college transit ridership and create a new generation of transit riders. The new service additions to CSUN will begin in Fall 2016 and includes a more efficient late-night schedule that will accommodate a broader range of college students getting out of night classes.
Thanks to CSUN’s pioneering role in Metro’s U-Pass program, Metro staff has scheduled future visits to the campus to answer student questions and promote the use of transit. The new U-Pass also includes easier ways to sign up either online through their college website or in-person on campus. The pass is valid for the whole semester, including breaks, and the fee to participate is paid to the University instead of to Metro.
Metro’s new student pass and transit information website is dedicated to serving the CSUN campus. Metro has also placed easy to find pocket guides with a full color map of all bus lines serving CSUN throughout hotspots on the campus.
