This holiday season, I am proud to announce the overwhelming success of our Mobile Mission project.
Our project goal was to raise $17,000 to provide the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission - Rescue SOS (Survival Outreach Services) program with a second mobile shower unit in order to reach out and care for more families every day. Thanks to your tremendous love and support, we raised nearly $30,000 to go towards a brand new mobile shower unit.
The Rescue Mission’s Rescue SOS Team is dedicated to helping individuals and families to meet basic, life-essential needs and serves as a link to social services in the community, including the organization's own emergency shelter, residential substance abuse recovery, and transitional housing programs.
Throughout the week, the Rescue SOS Team truck travels to different places within the San Fernando Valley and is equipped with a mobile shower unit, hot nutritious food, clothing, and hygiene items for distribution. Now, thanks to you, the Rescue SOS Team has doubled their resources and can now reach even more communities throughout the San Fernando Valley.
On behalf of my office, the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission, and everyone this new Mobile Mission will help, thank you to all of the Neighborhood Councils, local businesses, and outstanding community members that donated to #TheMobileMission project and helped bring resources and dignity to those that need a clean start.
