This week, the Neighborhoods FIRST team hosted a meeting with LA Family Housing, a key organization in our effort to end homelessness in CD12 and beyond. One component of their work involves operating a state-of-the-art facility known as The Campus which provides a combination of transitional, family, and permanent supportive housing for those experiencing homelessness.
LA Family Housing has also developed a coordinated entry system to move people off of the street and into shelter. It is this critical first step that is often the most difficult for individuals experiencing homelessness to take. My office is prepared to assist LA Family Housing identify and develop relationships with unsheltered residents and connect them with LA Family Housing's support services so we can begin the process of turning lives around and restoring our neighborhoods.
