Regulating Street Vending and Camping in City Parks
Posted by Councilmember Englander on July 31, 2015 at 12:00 PM
This week, the City Council voted to prohibit the vending of commercial items in all public parks without a permit and prohibit camping within all City parks, except in locations designated for such purposes.
The City of Los Angeles is home to more than 3.5 million residents and the availability of safe, urban parks is essential to the quality of life for our residents. Reinstating this ordinance will protect public safety and public health, reduce visual blight and ensure unencumbered access to safe and open parks.
