Reward for Information on the "Thelma & Louise Bandits"
Posted by Councilmember Englander on July 25, 2017 at 2:25 PM
On Tuesday, July 25, I introduced a motion offering $15,000 reward for information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction of the persons responsible for a series of bank robberies committed over the past two months.
This motion sends a message that the City of Los Angeles won't ignore criminals who threaten the safety of residents and businesses in Los Angeles. With this reward, we're putting these criminals on notice that there is no safe hiding place and that we won't stop until justice is served.
Known to law enforcement as the "Thelma and Louise Bandits", the crew is suspected of committing four armed robberies of banks within the City of Los Angeles and fifth in the city of Manhattan Beach. The FBI is the lead investigative agency on the case working with the support of LAPD. Detectives believe that a reward may compel member of the public t provide information on the identity of the persons responsible for these crimes.
Anyone with information that may be helpful to this investigation should contact the LA Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 222-8477.
