Supporting the Granada Hills Veterans Park

Almost a decade ago, the Granada Hills Rotary Club transformed a dilapidated traffic median at the corner of Zelzah Avenue and Chatsworth Street into a memorial park as a tribute to the military men and women who have served our country. The Granada Hills Veterans Park officially opened on May 31, 2010.
Today, the Granada Hills Rotary Foundation annually absorbs the costs for maintaining this beautiful landmark. This includes landscaping, repairs, maintaining brick and cement work, utilities, graffiti prevention, cameras for monitoring, liability insurance and tree lighting.
This Thursday, I was delighted to present the Granada Hill Rotary Club with a $5,000 contribution to their Foundation, to be used toward the continual care and maintenance of this important community monument.
