Update: Aliso Canyon Gas Leak
Posted by Councilmember Englander on November 06, 2015 at 12:00 PM
On Friday October 23, during normal operations, SoCal Gas crews found a leak in a natural gas storage well at Aliso Canyon.
My office has been engaging in daily conference calls with Southern California Gas Company, Sempra, both City and County Fire Departments, and Health Departments. My office attended the Porter Ranch Community meeting last night and regularly attends onsite meetings with So Cal Gas and Sempra to ensure the safety and health of our residents during this incident.
The most important thing to do now is for the Gas Company to locate and repair this problem immediately in a safe and publicly transparent manner. They should not rest until the necessary repairs are complete.
