This week, our Field Deputy Myrka Martinez hosted Disability Mentoring Day for the CD12 office. Disability Mentoring Day provides students and job seekers with disabilities the opportunity to shadow City employees at work. This invaluable experience gives young people with disabilities the opportunity to see potential career possibilities and helps them build networks that last them well into the future.
Myrka gave CD12 mentee Luis Lemus an in depth course on the work of a Field Deputy such as support and staffing for the Councilmember, community relations, and connecting various groups and associations with City Services.
We were delighted to host Luis and look forward to assisting him as he begins his career.
